Undicesimo album in studio della rock band inglese e uno dei più acclamati concept album di tutti i tempi, The Wall è noto come l'opera rock di Roger Waters, che tratta dell'abbandono e dell'isolamento personale. Caratterizzato dall'opera d'arte unica di Gerald Scarfe, l'album contiene i singoli “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2”, successo numero 1 nel Regno Unito e negli Stati Uniti, “Run Like Hell” e “Comfortably Numb”. Il film è stato successivamente adattato per il cinema da Alan Parker, con Bob Geldof nel ruolo principale di Pink, una rockstar stanca il cui isolamento dalla società è simboleggiato da un muro.
