Il secondo album della band, pubblicato originariamente nel 1968, è stato il primo album con David Gilmour, che ha sostituito Syd Barrett alla chitarra e alla voce. È sia l'ultimo album dei Pink Floyd in cui compare Syd Barrett, sia l'unico album in studio a cui hanno contribuito tutti e cinque i membri della band. Tra i brani classici figurano Jugband Blues e Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun.
