Quando il terzo album in studio dei Clash, London Calling, fu pubblicato nell'inverno del 1979, era chiaro che la band aveva realizzato un classico, un capolavoro che definiva l'era e che si poneva come uno dei più grandi album rock di tutti i tempi. L'album è un melting pot avvincente di stili musicali, guidato da una passione per l'azione e una feroce rabbia politica, con testi che rimangono attualmente rilevanti.
